How to Setup a Custom Template in FL Studio

September 28, 2019

FL Studio comes with a few pre made templates that works great, but you may want to save some time by having your own custom template that gets you going as quickly as possible. This template may contain some already loaded synths and samples that you often use in your productions, or maybe you have some sort of color coding that you want set from the start.

But how do you set up your own custom template? I’ll show you, it’s really easy.

  1. Start by opening an empty project file.
  2. Set it up as you want it to be setup every time you load FL Studio in the future.
  3. Save the template in your template folder. This folder can be found in this location on your computer: C:\Program Files (x86)\Image-Line\FL Studio 20\Data\Templates\
  4. Now restart FL Studio and open the template by going File -> New From Template -> Your Template, and let it load up.

5. Restart FL Studio, and it should now open up with your own custom template.

I hope you found this helpful. Have fun.
